When we asked our community why bonding over great style with their moms and mother figures is so important to them, we were overwhelmed by the responses we received—but not surprised. After all, these women are usually the ones who guide us along our journey of self-discovery. What is more important to that rite of passage than expressing our style? That’s what Dia & Co is all about: showcasing who we are and who we wish to be by wearing clothes that make us look and feel great. This is a tribute to the moms, grandmothers, aunties, and mentors who were the first to tell us: “You’re perfect just as you are, in everything you wear.”

“My mom always taught me to wear what makes me feel beautiful. Even as a single mom, she always made sure I had clothes that fit me well and were things I felt good wearing, even if it meant spending more because I was plus size. She’s always encouraged me to dress how I want, even when that is hugely different from her personal style.”

“I can always count on my mother to be supportive of any decision I make, even if it’s a little crazy. I think that’s what makes someone a mother—a person who shows unconditional love no matter the circumstances. You can always find my mom and I out shopping and looking for the best deals. Shopping is definitely our cardio and our favorite hobby.”

“My mother is an inspiration to me. I hope to be as wonderful of a mother to my twins as she is to me and my sister. She’s the best grandmother to the twins as well! Honestly, we LOVE to match as a family. It’s a part of who we are when we’re stepping out. We feel good and we look good when we’re out and dressed alike.”

“Shopping has always been one of the ways my mom and I bond. While shopping together, which we do a lot, we catch up on life, work, celebrity gossip, reality shows, and more. Shopping has always been our thing and we always have the best time.”

“My relationship with my son Charlie adds a fresh perspective to my life. I love dressing him in bright colors and allowing him to explore clothing. He’s still very young, but I can’t wait to see what he likes and what he chooses on his own.”
