From stylists to engineers, and graphic designers to customer experience associates, there are so many passionate people behind Dia&Co’s style magic. In this monthly series, we’ll introduce you to the team, one by one.

First up: Meet Megan Murphy!

What do you do at Dia&Co?

I was one of the first Dia Stylists! Now I’m the executive assistant to Nadia and Lydia, our CEO and President.

What’s your favorite part about your job?

I love that my job gives me the chance to learn more about my strengths, and also make an impact on so many different parts of the company. I spend a lot of time coordinating meetings and booking travel, but you might also find me setting up A/V equipment, making crafts for our company Core Value Awards, or even occasionally modeling in a photoshoot!

How would you define your personal style?

My personal style is more on the classic side—I never get tired of black jeans, a denim shirt, and ankle boots. I like to add a little personality to these wardrobe staples by pairing them with fun details, like buttons or ruffles!

Who’s your style icon?

I don’t have a specific style icon, but I love outfits that are put together, while not feeling overly dressy. I end up getting most of my inspiration from Instagram—I try to follow people who post attainable outfits. Bonus points if they wear plus sizes so I can shop their looks! A few recent faves are Natalie from @nataliemeansnice and Mona from @thesmilingsweetheart.

Let’s say you have something really important planned. What do you wear?

My go-to, feel-good outfit is a pair of high-waisted black skinnies and a peplum blouse. The peplum silhouette fits my body really well—it shows off my waist and gives me a little extra room near my hips, which always makes me feel my best. I’ll usually finish off my look with a block heel and some simple jewelry!

What’s your final touch before you walk out the door?

I always curl my lashes! Even if I already did while applying my makeup, I do it one last time for good measure.

What’s your favorite style tip, trick, or hack?

Try to focus on silhouettes instead of sizes! For me, I find that dressing my body can be a little tricky—my upper body is much smaller than my hips, so I have to look for more of an A-line cut to get the perfect fit. When I pay more attention to the shape of my clothes, I don’t limit myself to certain brands or sizes, and I can branch out a little more with my style.

When do you feel the most confident?

I feel the most confident when I remember to make time for myself. Whether it’s doing my hair and makeup in the morning or getting myself to the gym after work, taking the time to do those things makes me feel like I’m putting forward the best version of myself.

What’s your idea of the perfect Sunday afternoon?

Sitting in my backyard with a good book—lately, I’ve been on a Tana French kick—and a cup of coffee. I also love a good self-care Sunday: painting my nails, doing a face mask, and getting my apartment back in shape. I always feel better starting the workweek after I’ve had time on Sunday to catch up on life.

Where’s your happy place?

In the summertime, my happy place is either lying by the pool or going for a long drive. Here in New York City, you often live with roommates and take the subway to get around—you can forget how great it is to drive alone and sing in the car as loud as you want. Sometimes you just need to jam out to 2008 Demi Lovato without anyone judging you, you know?

One of our office’s most popular snacks is cereal. What’s your favorite kind?

My favorite cereal is either Crispix or Honey Nut Cheerios, depending on the day. I also have a weakness for Peanut Butter Cap’n Crunch—because sometimes adulting is hard!
