Introducing Alexa Boccia!

What do you do here at Dia?

I work on the Social Media team here at Dia and run our #DiaDelight Program. I engage with our customer on our social channels and find fun ways to go the extra step with #DiaDelight. The #DiaDelight program is a special way in which we connect with our customers beyond the box experience. We dedicate time every week to send her something and tell her thank her for being apart of this community!

Explain to us what Dia Delight is, and what the #ThankfulThursday initiative is all about.

The #DiaDelight program is a special way in which we connect with our customers beyond the box experience. We dedicate time every week to send her something special. Check out the hashtag to find out more! #ThankfulThursday specifically gives us a chance to learn about our customer, see what her style is like, and tell her thank you for being part of this awesome community and allowing us to be part of her closet and her everyday life.

Are there any particular #DiaDelight stories that stand out in your memory?

The feedback that we get from our customer is truly inspiring. When we send out a #DiaDelight package, I feel like a kid on Christmas morning all over again. Every morning, I wake up and check the hashtag on social to see if a customer got their package! One of my favorite moments was last year when we sent out a “Family Game Night” package. It’s amazing to be able to delight not just our customer but her family as well.

As Dia&Co continues to grow, some critics have said that sending out handwritten thank you notes isn’t scaleable. What would you say to them?

No way! Handwritten notes are so thoughtful and here at Dia, we love to take a few minutes out of our day to show her that we appreciate her. Customers have proven to us that they appreciate these initiatives through their loyalty to us. Our first priority is always Her and these special initiatives let Her know that we are more than a clothing company, we are a community. We want to show our customer that we care so much about Her, we love to hear Her story, and want to prove to Her that we will always be there for Her.

How has working at Dia&Co affected your personal style?

My personal style has certainly gotten an upgrade since I started working at Dia! I always considered my style to be very casual but over the past two years working here I have learned to throw a little sass into it. I still dress comfortably and still love the color black but now I add fun details like a red lipstick, a moto jacket (my new go-to), and distressed jeans. In general, jeans are a completely new category for me because there was no denim in my wardrobe before Dia!

Really? You didn’t wear jeans before you started to work at Dia?

I maybe owned like one other pair of jeans in my life before Dia and they didn’t fit well so I never wore them. I would only find jeans for women with a booty and that simply is not me. I have a stomach, thinner legs, and a flat behind. Finding jeans was next to impossible! I always felt more comfortable in plain black leggings and was just hoping to blend in. I never wanted to stand out and show off my looks. Now, I want all the skinny jeans I can get my hands on! And I want a top that I can tuck into them, which is still super new to me!

Besides jeans, how have you mastered dressing for your body type? What advice would you give to a customer who has a similar shape to yours?

I describe my shape as more top-heavy and I have become very dedicated to just a few brands’ selection of bottoms. Molly&Isadora jeans have saved my life! I love to explore with different silhouettes of tops. My go-to is always a v-neck that is fitted on top and looser at the bottom. The best advice I would give to someone shaped like me is to not stress about what pants you’re wearing because the look is on top! If I’m wearing plain black leggings, I can still look put-together with a cute top, fun hairstyle, playful makeup, and glam accessories.

If you had a random Tuesday to yourself with no obligations at all, what would you do with your time?

You would catch me taking photos! I love to go to the park or explore the city and take photos. My 2018 New Year’s resolution was to make a point to get outside and take as many photos as I can. It’s so calming and fun to capture something beautiful and so fulfilling to look back and say, “Wow, I did that!” I’ve also become the designated outfit photographer for my friends whenever we go out.
