I’ve spent the past 25 years working in college athletics to improve the student athlete experience. Sports have been part of my life for as long as I can remember. From sweatpants, to dresses and suits, every day is different so having a versatile wardrobe is a must. There are times when I have three totally different events or meetings in one day. That may include a presentation to the executive team in the morning, coaches’ meetings in the afternoons, and a basketball game that same night.
Pre-pandemic my office style was a mix of traditional suits and business casual. Jeans and a good blazer were my Friday go-to. As we’ve moved through the pandemic, my style has become more casual, I even incorporate lounge wear pieces into my everyday looks. Shopping at Dia & Co, I’ve built a functional wardrobe with great staples that I can use for almost any occasion. Here are a few of my all-time favorite pieces to mix and match for great office style.
Dawn’s Workwear Must-Haves
I am in love with the 11 Honoré Collection Maya wide leg pants. This look could take me from meetings in the office to game days at the arena effortlessly. They are soft and comfortable, and the best part is they are tall-girl friendly. What I love about Dia & Co is that many of the styles work for me as a tall woman, at 6’2” that’s not easy. These work great with cute casual sneakers or flats.
Sweats are a staple in my wardrobe and wearing them to the office has become more acceptable. I love this 11 Honoré Collection Gia Sweatshirt. The soft neutral color and the drop shoulder pair well with my favorite wide leg pants. It’s great for a casual office look, and it’s perfect to wear to the gym afterward.
This tunic by Pari Passu, is one of my all-time favorite pieces, it’s a fresh take on a classic tunic. The side inserts and split back are chic and unexpected. I like to style this with pants, jeans, joggers or even leggings and boots. I’d add a white or blue button down or even a brightly colored turtleneck to jazz it up this Fall.
Dawn’s Office-Style Tips
Now more than ever we are able and encouraged to bring our authentic selves to the office. Every space has their own “dress code” or office “guidelines,” but don’t be afraid to add your personal style.
- Looking for comfort? A nice pair of joggers, a body suit and a drapey blazer is a go-to.
- If you love color, wear it, add a fun bag, bright earrings, or a colorful necklace to your look.
- Experiment with pairing unexpected pieces like a sweatshirt and pencil skirt.
With every single delivery from Dia & Co I get increasingly more excited to explore my personal style. Their selection helps me power through my day. The better I look, the better I feel when I walk into the office. The best part is when I share my favorite Dia & Co styles with my insta-friends @dee_ellerbe, I know we will all be able to find great styles for our various shapes and sizes.
